Women Against War brings together Capital District women to work for peace through:

  • Direct action
  • Educational events on the costs of war and the possibilities of peace
  • Outreach to area Muslims negatively impacted by US post 9/11 policies

The Muslim Solidarity Committee invites you to the
4th Anniversary Commemoration of the Arrests of
YASSIN AREF & MOHAMMED HOSSAIN

Friday August 22, 2007 from 4:30-6pm

March from Masjid As-Salam mosque, located at 278 Central Avenue, Albany to the Washington Ave. Armory, near the corner of Lark Street in Albany.

The 4:30 PM march will be followed by a vigil at the Armory displaying our signs and banners.

*** Last year the first annual vigil was colorful, satisfying and brought together a large coalition of local peace and justice groups including Women Against War and Grannies for Peace. It was a celebratory and hopeful gathering in the face of a tragic injustice that took place in our community.
