Capital District Border Watch, Grannies for Peace, Women Against War and the Albany Art Project invite you to make Valentine Cards for Children and Families at the Border
The current administration’s Remain in Mexico policy had trapped over 60,000 adults, families and children applying for asylum at the Mexican border. They are living in shelters and tents waiting for hearings. International observers and anecdotal evidence indicate a high level of violence, rape and extortion. This is a humanitarian crisis.
These families and children need our friendship and care. Their lives are uncertain and they need to know that they are not alone.
All are welcome to join us for a drop-in card making session on
Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 1 to 3 pm and
Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 1-3 pm

At the Albany Art Room, 350 New Scotland Avenue, Albany.
All supplies are donated by the Albany Art Room. Your creativity and kindness are all we need to send care and bring joy to families at the border. Children must be accompanied by a supervising adult. During this program, card making for children and families is the only activity available. All other materials and projects at the Albany Art Room are available during regular open studio hours.

If you or your organization would like to organize a card making event we will provide instructions and a drop off point for sending cards to Brownsville, TX. Contact Sister Doreen Glynn at 585-943-7442 or dglynn@csjalbany.org
